"Family Album" represents a new approach for Robert Crosbie / Geisha, the sense that there is a concept at play. The album tracks a journey from morning to night, with the sounds and music portraying the feelings and vibes at each step. The tracks are shorter than usual for Geisha.
The journey starts in a sunny morning garden, with the sounds of children playing, birds singing, distant music, and a peaceful feeling (Family Is Everything, So Good To Be Home). As we move along towards midday the music becomes more lively (Tongues), and we take a journey towards late afternoon and evening (Whispering Steps, Juan in the Garden).
Soon, night falls and the magic of the darkness starts to appear in the form of twinkling lights and warm night air (Day Begins Night, Lamps of Fire). As night lengthens we slip into a dreamlike state (The Enchantment) before succumbing to the dream (This Is How You Ought To See, In The Midst).
The final part of our journey is one of restful sleep (Night Of The Everlasting, Sleep Fantastic). Night has truly embraced us and we sleep till until dawn and we can revisit the journey once again.
Ross From Friends (DJ): "This tune is so relaxed and ‘sunny’. The background noises here are ones of a perfect family day in the garden. Great to take your eyes away from a screen for a while and dream of a sunny picnic with the kids." (on "So Good To Be Home")
