"Broadcast: One" is a collection of our oldest and newest songs.
"Thinkkng Hours" a remixed version of "Thinking Hours" from April 2020 which we feel does the song a little more justice. We wanted it to feel more like a band playing it and let the instruments have some room to breathe. The title of this remix, "Thinkkng Hours", comes from a typo between our drummer Chris and Andy while discussing mixes in Messenger...Chris thought it looked cool.
The second track, Crime Project, was the first piece ever written for Sky Trumpets, about a year before the band even formed. Andy wrote the majority remotely with help from Chris programming drums, in October of 2017 while living abroad. The idea came from watching a ton of true crime/murder mystery dramas and a bunch of The Walking Dead in a short period of a couple of weeks, and a fascination with the hyper dramatic "set-up, conflict, triumphant/melancholic resolution" of these shows. The structure of the song is loosely based on this idea. The guitar riff was the first thing Andy played on guitar after a weekend of binging The Walking Dead.
Having shown Cillian and Jack the early demo of Crime Project, we came together in mid 2018 to start our group. Peter literally just showed up to the rehearsal room and together the 5 of us finished writing this song. Between work and college it's taken until now for this track to see the light of day but we are excited for it to be out in the world at last.
