Lens Flare for the Dead Astronaut is the story of a metaphysical journey.

With his first EP, Augustin Fievet wants to take you on a trip through space where a Voyager is seeking meaning in the Void.

1 - Through the Clouds

Trough the Clouds is where things take-off.
From the ground up to the exosphere.

The track is divided in two parts. During the first one, right after the start, it’s all about going through the clouds.

While this ascent is quite long, it’s just a matter of time for the Voyager to experiment weightlessness.

When the limits of the atmosphere are finally reached, a feeling of joy and peacefulness takes over everything else.

The Voyager has reached space.

2 - Zero Gravity

Zero Gravity, aka weightlessness, has happened.
It’s everywhere around you, it’s everything and anything.
Which doesn’t necessarily mean numbness.

In fact, looking back at the Earth, the Voyager’s first feeling might probably be nostalgia.
Home is still close, but it’s a matter of time before it’s no longer the case.
A piano melody takes everything far away.

Slowly, but surely, the Voyager is taken into the darkness of space.

The Void is now a thing, and all that there is left are those same feelings and memories that will keep the Voyager alive.

3 - Lens Flare for the Dead Astronaut

Lost in the Void, the Voyager is now feeling lethargic.
Thoughts are becoming demons.

Everything becomes heavy, oppressive and stifling.
Lens Flare for the Dead Astronaut is the end of the journey.

The Voyager didn’t make it, but the Spirit did.

The Voyager’s body is drifting in space, only driven by the same soothing piano like a requiem for a dead Spirit.

4 - Rebirth

Free of the last thoughts, the Voyager’s Spirit is finally able to be released.

This last track is dedicated to redemption.
In that way, the Voyager’s Spirit has reached its final destination.

There are notions of release and Rebirth.

Water, synonymous of life, is ending this last track.
It takes everything peacefully away.

It also creates a path to a new life within a new body.
