About
I have been playing music in my pastime since the age of five. The piano has been my instrument of choice and many of my compositions have been written on the piano. I also have a love of synthesizers with an eclectic taste in music covering electronic music, jazz, soul, blues and rock.

Find me at my website: anthonyotyehel.com and search for Anthony Otyehel on mosts social channels.

I am self-taught and although I  had a few early music lessons, I predominantly play by ear. I started composing at home in my teens and was recruited to synth pop band Vizual Ettiquette providing rhythmic sequencing, drum programming and melodic lead lines.

Shortly afterwards I auditioned as keyboard player for a soul, jazz, funk, rock outfit that would become Sloan Square East, forming a long writing partnership with professional musician Darren Dutson Bromley. After some years playing the gig circuit in and around Bradford and West Yorkshire, coming runners up in Battle of the Bands and playing venues such as St. Georges Hall and Queen’s Hall in Bradford in the late 80’s, Sloan Square East disbanded.

The band members went their separate ways and I went to University as a mature student and moved to London afterwards. Over the years myself and Darren Dutson Bromley stayed in touch and regularly jammed, writing new tunes whenever we got together.

I mainly perform on the piano and can be classified as Easy Listening with classical, jazz and soul influences - but have also recently recorded some tracks written on a variety of synthesizers exploring my love of electronic musical influences.
